The email below was sent to 70 co-authors and 29 prospective co-authors.

Dear VPHA co-authors and prospective co-authors,

Voting to create a conclusive recommended reading list of early ALD publications  to the ALD 2016 poster has now ended. Voting deadline was June 15th, all VPHA co-authors were allowed to participate, rules were announced here

An amazing number of 507 points were collected in the voting, given by an as-amazing number of thirty (30) people.  (At the moment, VPHA has 70 co-authors.) Many thanks for all those who participated in the voting! The large participation ensures that the result is created by collective wisdom and not dominated by the views of only few individuals.

Next steps will be to create a poster to the ALD 2016 conference with the voting result. We are already preparing the first draft of a poster together with the core VPHA organizational group. We will send the poster for all VPHA co-authors to view and comment upon well in advance, most likely already next week. Because of my summer holidays, we need to finish the poster well before the conference.

Additionally, the organizers have offered us a chance to compete to get a 2-min flash presentation to advertise the poster. This flash presentation needs to be sent to ALD 2016 already on Monday June 20. Once the flash presentation is ready and submitted, it will be uploaded to the vph-ald.com site for everyone's reference. I will get back to this, too.

A note about ALD-history-evolving-file. Some co-authors have asked, whether reading and commenting still continues after the voting. Yes, it does: more comments are welcome and needed. We are now 67.8% done with the reading. There are some (14) publications without any comments, and many more with just one or two comments. So, please keep on adding comments in the ALD-history-evolving-file for the publications you read. I am a bit hesitating as to whether a 3rd, smaller round of distributing papers for reading is needed. We’ll come back to this, too.

Best regards,
Riikka Puurunen, VPHA coordinator
